In two weeks

Two weeks from now we will be on an airplane with a one way ticket to Canada. This journey that started a little bit over a year ago will finally come to conclusion, and with it a new beginning for us. I am ecstatic and full of hope, but also stressed, and tired.

As I write this, I am surrounded by a chaotic mess of our belongings that will need to be downsized to fit into four suitcases. My to-do list is so long and overwhelming that I have spent the past four hours watching reruns of Parks and Rec.

I have no doubts, no cold feet. America gave up on us, and we have given up on her. There will no longer be “papers” wishes on birthdays and eyelashes. Goodbye America. The next post I write will be from The Great White North!

Stay warm,

  1. What an amazing journey. Very excited for you guys. Being a DACA holder myself is really encouraging to read your blog. I am currently in the pool for express entry with 430 points. I hope i get picked. Please let us know how it goes once you get there.

    1. How exiting! I think you have a very good shot, I have seen numbers as low as 413 get picked. Best of luck! I will definitely let you know how it goes once we land 🙂 Where would you like to move to?

    1. Hi, that is correct. Initially we were planning on driving but the process for importing a car was turning out to be convoluted and expensive.
